Anyone know what I need to mount a hybrid on this rifle? The threads are 5/8x18.

I wouldn't use an adapter on a gun going for great accuracy. I'd have a gunsmith chop back and rethread. Should be under $150.

I have a kimber Montana 84m. I'm wondering if I should get it threaded too? It's a.308 that weighs a little over 5lbs.

I'd put your calipers on the barrel and see how much meat you have there. Is it enough to thread w/o heroic efforts?

IIRC for 5/8 you want somewhere around 0.7" for the shoulder or it's a no-go.

It's likely going to be very thin. I'd give Dave @ Liberty Suppressors a call on that one. I don't know what kind of wizardry is done in those circumstances.

Apparently a muzzle brake is offered that is 7/16x28 and a 7/16-5/8 adapter can be had as well.

Are all of them already threaded to be ready for this awesome accessory?

ETA: before anybody gets too excited all these thread posts are about the Kimber 84m and not the 308 AR

according to one image I found it appears to come equipped with threads for your $1500-$1800 (last image)

Has anyone tried to unscrew the end of one?

EATA: according to Lilja the contour is 0.565" at 22" and you'd have to go all the way back to ~6" to find ~0.7" of meat

I would call Dave like Twinsen mentioned, he'll tell you straight if anything can be done without an adapter or heroic efforts like Stan mentioned.

With that thin profile I imagine POI would shift dramatically between suppressed and unsuppressed but someone else can chime in with actual experience.

Might be worth dropping $600 for something with a shootable bull profiled 18"-20" barrel.

Yeah, I got this rifle as an ultralight that I don't mind carrying all day. I just thought it would be nice to have the option to suppress it too. I still have a lot of other hosts.

It is a nice rifle. Wouldn't be near as nice with the 6" barrel mod required for a proper threading.
