Default Stiffer booster spring?

I'm not sure if this question is best directed to Dave, or some of you other crazy experimenters on the forum - I'd like to find a slightly stiffer booster spring for my Mystic X, do any of you have a good source or have experimented with such a thing?

My G19 pistols (several, some stock and some modified) always seemed to cycle a bit more briskly than needed with my Mystic X, to the extent that recoil is noticeably more with the suppressor than without. It's not a big issue, but since the spring seems to have softened a bit over time anyway, I'd like to replace it and figured I might as well try some stiffer springs. Suggestions are welcome.

I would think a heavier recoil spring would be much easier to source and achieve the same goal. Maybe get a new factory booster spring at the same time then play with what gives the best results.

No go, I'm not looking to change the way the pistols function unsuppressed, and they work great as is. These get carried for serious use and are not strictly suppressed range toys, and I'm not going to swap out springs whenever I want to shoot it suppressed.

Can a browning tilt action get away with a just a light can like on a Beretta’s ?

Do you have a lightweight fixed mount to play with?

They can. I'm not sure where exactly the line is regarding weight, but you don't need a booster for things like the Poseidon, degroat nano, or aurora.

They can, but wherever that line is, the Mystic X is way over it. It's not a heavy can for what it is, but it's way too big to cycle without a booster.

This is correct, it needs to be SIGNIFICANTLY lighter than what the Mystic X weighs for it to cycle without a booster installed...

We can send you another spring if you would like to test a new one, also if you have a friend with a lathe, try making a spacer about .100" thick the has about .005" OD clearance in the bore of the booster housing and .010" clearance over the piston, to preload the spring with. Just to see how it performs, this is simple to undo later if you don't like the results too...

Thanks Dave, I got an email back from one of your guys and am going to order a new spring.

Since I am the friend with the lathe, I already made a few spacers and have been using it that way for a while now. It does work better, only downside is the spring has taken a set now and doesn't work without the spacer any more.

You guys make great stuff, don't want anybody to think I'm complaining. Just looking for a stiffer spring since my guns in particular could benefit from it. I'm sure a lot of others out there need the spring size you guys use.

Sub - big thanks to your guys for sending me a new spring and O-rings.

Now that I have a new spring in the booster, I think my old spring was probably worn out before I ever started messing with spacers. The new one feels & works a lot better.

Great service from Liberty, as always!
