It was supposed to happen this morning, but you guys never freaking sleep!!!!

Yes, we have been working on this for over a year now. We have done a bunch of engineering and testing and have solved the mystery of going to full power loads.

And to answer the other question, yes, it will be an option to upgrade to this rating. We are going to keep a database of all the serial numbers prior to MX2600 that choose the upgrade and that way we will know who has the rated cans and who does not.

All the prior cans are still the exact same cans that they were yesterday, so don't think they are inferior, they still work...for the calibers that they were rated for.

To be honest, I don't like shooting it on 300 Win Mag, it hovers around the 140 to 142 mark and that is at the ear! Although, that is better than the 169 to 171 without it...

It makes for a super lightweight hunting can... hint hint

Perhaps it is coincidental, but I have to say doing the caliber questionaire was a timely and clever move prior to announcing this upgrade. What calibers do you guys hunt with? I just happen to have a silencer that can do all of those right here. Who knew? Wink

Seriously though, way to follow through on a great concept.

Dave, I was checking out the Liberty site and see the Mystic to Mystic-X (new and improved!) upgrade option and the Mystic to Cosmic upgrade.

Also took a look at the caliber list for the Cosmic that does not list the 308 (yet) but does list the 458 SOCOM.

I'm looking at building a 10.5" or 12" 458 SOCOM.

Two questions for you.
Is the 308 rating of the new Mystic-XX going to cross over to a Mystic to Cosmic upgrade?

Would a Mystic to Cosmic upgrade be rated for a 10.5 or 12" 458 SOCOM?

Dave, my Mystic-X is already an upgrade on an original Mystic tube; I'd have to look at the dates but IIRC it was done sometime last spring/early summer. Any way to know if that's one of these newer cores with the higher rating?
I'm not so interested in 300 WM but it would be good to know if it's OK for 308 and 6.5 Creedmoor.

New baffle stack or just beefed up the current one? Pics??? Pretty please. Any db numbers comparing "old" Mystic and new upgraded? This may cause me to have to send in my original Mystic in to get the upgrade. Oh well, its nothing but money........

It needs a 16" barrel if memory serves me on the 458... The Cosmic will never be rated for full power rifle rounds as it would take significant engineering changes to make it compatible with the pressures associated with those rounds. The mystic x, though similar in external appearance, is a completely different animal on the inside. To make a 45 silencer capable of handling these pressure levels will be a NPI and not an upgrade... So any mystic/cosmic upgrades will not carry this caliber change.

If the upgrade was done on or after June 1st, then it has the new core in it. That was the date we started using them in the upgrades. PM me your serial number and we will look it up and see when we did it if you don't remember.

It meters virtiaully identical to the core that Bill measured last time (probably would be the same if it had been at the event on THAT day), the changes are very minimal in appearance but are crucial to strength... I will get you some silencer porn later today though to push you over the edge....

Well, since I already have a Mystic X, and I've been looking for a can for my Ruger 308 scout, I went ahead and placed my order.

Is there any specifics to mailing my can back to you or receiving it back besides fully insuring it? Does it need to be cleaned up nice?

One more question. I know that even the original Mystic (what I currently have) is/was rated for slow fire 223 on a 16 inch barrel. Has either the slow rate of fire or the barrel length limitation been changed? I'm not so much worried about the length, but how fast can I shoot my AR(semi only) in 223 with the new core?

Nothing special that I can think of, just call in to the office to specific info regarding this operation... 706-661-6911

It need not be cleaned prior to sending it in either...

Yes, the new core can handle significantly more heat and pressure than the older cores. Now, keep in mind, this is a multipurpose design and as such, is a compromise in certain areas. If you want heavy full auto use, then the choice is a hard use 556 can like the Constitution or the Triumph. If it is a single mag of fun auto, the new core can handle that just fine. What you are going to see is tube heating at this point, a lot of it. Rapid fire semi auto though, won't hurt it down to 11.5"...although the tube heating will still be an issue. Aiming will start to be a problem from mirage pretty quick on a short 556. The point is that it works the best in the 9mm arena and reasonable in the rifle arena. It is still a pistol caliber can at heart, so to speak. Does that make sense?

Makes sense. Thanks. I can't afford the full auto game anyway, so that'll never be a problem. Mine is used mainly on my 300blk, 9mm, and 357MAX. Just wondering about the 223.

Down to 11.5" it will be happy as a lark...

So just to make sure, if I buy one from the silencer shop, it will be this latest and greatest, right?

Thanks!
