Default CAW 300 BLK

We build our Blackout rifles with Black Hole Weaponry stainless steel barrels

This is a four shot group w/ factory ammo from a 9.5" barrel at 75 yards. This was a function test.

I prefer a black finish on the lower, myself, but that upper is bad ass. What handguard is that?

I love that the upper doesn't have a forward assist.

what is the weight vs. a standard upper? it looks beefier. I have a slicked upper for my .22 but I'd like one with a dust cover for my upcoming .223 build.

Sorry, But I don't remember the weight. I do remember they are close in weight compared to the 7075 forged ones. Mine are thick walled 6061 billet for strength. This helps for accuracy and help contain an explosion, due to a catastrophic failure.

Any reason why you chose 6061 over 7075? I'm not familiar with the difference so I'd be curious as to the pros/cons of the two.

I would definitly get one if it were made from 7075. 6061 is strong but the 7075 is far better in my opinion.

7075 costs a bit more than 6061 so that may have been a factor.

6061 will flex in the event you have a case failure and your 7075 forged frags like a grenade in your face! Mine are milled out of a solid blocks of billet, 7075 forged stands no chance against the billet 6061!
Also since mine are stronger than forged, your accuracy will be better.

What about machining it out of 7075 barstock?

As far as billet 7075 I didn't see a need for it. The 6061 far exceeded my requirements when looking for a material that would make our target models rigid enough to eliminate play and achieve sub moa groups with minimal receiver flex.

No sir, as of now the 6061 seem to do what we wanted it to do. I wanted something stronger than the forged receivers and this done the job.

Ok, thanks.
I have (1) complete 8.5" CMMG upper built & (1) stripped CMMG 8.5" still available.
I also have some target model 300 Blk barrel's on order.
These are pistol uppers. All NFA rules apply!
